10 Ways to Make it a Better Day:

Yes, we've all had those days when your alarm goes off in the morning and there's nothing you want to do more than to roll over and sleep for another 8 hours. The thought of going to school, or facing your arch enemy, or the possibility of accidentally running into "that guy" just makes you sick inside.

If only we could put life on hold.

So what do you do when you know it's going to be a long day? Here's a few tips that help me have a fool-proof awesome day:

1. Get ready for the day. On days when sleep is your #1 priority, I know it sounds kinda contradictory to get up with enough time to get ready. But seriously, it helps. Do you hair, put on at least a little mascara. You'll feel better about yourself if you know you don't look like a train just ran you over.
2. Wear your favorite outfit. I tried this out today as a matter of fact. I wore a brightly colored floral shirt, and my roommate's brown leather jacket. I looked hott and I knew it. Because I knew that I looked good, I didn't have to fuss about what other people were thinking all day, which gave me all the confidence I needed.
3. Don't be alone all day. Plan time to see your friends. Sometimes when we get in that "mood," we get down on ourselves and we think that no one ever feels the same way we do. Spending time with friends is the best cure. It will remind you that there are so many people that look out for you on a daily basis and love you just the way you are.
4. Make a new friend. Talk to the kid sitting next to you in class, sit by someone new at lunch. It will make you feel better if you make friends with those around you.
5. Do something nice for someone else. It could be a roommate, your little brother, or your neighbor across the street. Make them cookies, leave them an encouraging note, help them with their homework. Do something to take the focus off yourself and channel it towards those around you.
6. Exercise. Physical activity releases endorphins that naturally make you feel better. It's the perfect cure for anything!
7. Do something you love. Maybe it's watching an episode of your favorite TV show, or going for a long drive. Maybe you're the type to cuddle up with a favorite book or grab a large order of McDonalds fries--do something that you know will make you feel better.
8. Call your mom. Sounds simple enough. When you're having a hard day, why not talk to the one person that will always be there for you? Your mom is your #1 cheerleader, right?
9. Count your blessings. Name them one by one.
10. Smile. Does this even need an explanation?

Just give it a try next time it's one of "those days." Let me know how it works!
